Notes of honey and floral nectar. Still tasty but quite sweet, so best served extremely cold. Put the bottle on ice.

Dark golden brown. Traditional Sauternes blend. Great caramel and apricot flavors. Decent acidity to prevent the wine from being cloying, but not to the extent you would get with Sauternes. Overall this is a very good wine that is typically available at a great value because no one knows what it is.

Clear dark amber color, faintly greenish at the rim. Notes of raisins, figs, prunes, molasses, treacle, allspice. More reminiscent of an aged Pedro Ximenez than a Sauternes. Excellent.

Popped and poured. This is an excellent, fully mature but not old, rendition of a Sauternes. Nicely sweet but not overly so. There's enough acidity to keep it from being cloying. Very good and no real hurry to open it. The only problem for this wine was than I opened it side-by-side with both a 1996 and 1997 Doisy-Daene L'Extravegance. The Beringer didn't stand a chance.

A nice example of a Botrytis style wine. Drank it next to an Australian Noble One, and preferred the Noble One. Nice wine, but not going to put many of these in my cellar.

Bought this with zero expectation...the color was almost dark brown and I thought it would be oxidized. Not at all! I was bombarded by coffee and dark chocolate aromas...but no sign of oxidation. Still quite sweet and rich on the palate. Drink within the next few months.

A good take on a Sauternes deep Amber with a shading toward orange honeyed apricots with a touch Of acid to keep it from being too cloying.

Dark orange/brown color. Surprisingly refreshing nose (B++). Smooth, rich palate with a very long finish (B++/A-). Delicious and is a very good place right now!

San Diego WineSpectator.com Offline, 10/6/2012 (Carlsbad, California) : Opened late in the evening, not included in voting. Light golden-honey color. Delicious aromas and flavors of spicy pumpkin pie, apricot and honey. Unctuous and sweet but with enough acidity for structure and freshness. Compares favorably with a high quality sauternes.

Lots of almond paste and marzipan on opening. In the mouth, nice balance and not too sweet. Much better than I expected.

Drinking great right. Beautiful aromas and flavors of caramel, butterscotch, a little tropical fruit, and honeycomb. Full bodied and developed, but still has time to go. Acidity kicks in on the finish.

Final wine of the evening to accompany dessert. Really thick and dark color. Heavier and sweeter than a Sauternes but a lot to like

Sweet aromas of apricots, peach, and lemon. Similar flavors on the palate that explode with flavor. Decent acidity and a long finish. Very well made and has that delicious factor.

375 ml bottle, fill into neck. Decanted 45 minutes prior to tasting. Clear medium amber hue upon opening, darkening noticeably over the next 90 minutes. Wonderful notes of fig paste, quince paste, green/golden raisins, hints of orange peel and pine needles, and Asian spices. Lush, oily, viscous mouthfeel, with enough acidity to maintain freshness and structure. Paired well with pecan pie and baked fromage (goat cheesecake) with creme anglaise. Will not rush to drink my two remaining bottles of this.

Tasted with a stuffed up nose. Let breathe 3 hours. Beautiful medium deep gold color. Nose of honey, vanilla, lemon zest and of course yellow flowers. Palate shows slight signs of the above. A little dissapointing overall. Expected more vibrant aromas. Nose was a bit dull for a dessert wine. Quite viscous and a little weighty for my taste, and not the balance I was looking for either. A bit hot on the back end. Overall, one is better off …

Nice burnt orange color in the glass. Nose gives off sweet nuances of creme brulee, lemon zest, peach meringue and fresh cream. Palate is very focused with sweet honeysuckle flavors, orange zest and burnt cream. This wine has a nice balance to it with great zippy acidity but still very fat, with nice weight and viscosity. Not too oily in any was and still very fresh. This wine best compares to a nice young Barsac.

Served room temperature. Notes of apricots and canned peaches in thick syrup. Served alone, but would have been better chilled and with dessert food. A bit too sweet for my tastes served at room temp and alone.

This was delicious with a medley of fruit flavors from apricot through pineapple to orange marmalade. Pretty good balance (Greenblanket would have appreciated a touch more acid) and a rich honey and vanilla finish.

Red Carpet: Noble rot up the yazoo; stinky sock plus apricot, rich! Honey, apricot syrup; thick, syropy, long fin, lots of flavor; not as subtle or elegant as sauternes, but wads of character here!
