Hmmm…purchased from winery & cellared since. Screams hot alcohol upon opening & despite 2 hour decant. Has the stuffing but the heat is unbearable.

First day was a little too hot, the high alcohol not yet integrated with the whole. Second day everything had calmed down and could be enjoyed as a balanced, delicious experience.

A deep ruby color, mysterious and commanding, sets the stage for this masterclass in Washington Cabernet. The nose is pronounced and layered, with black plum, black cherry, black currant, and fig, wrapped in clove, toasted oak, mushroom, leather, forest floor, and a graphite-driven minerality that adds tension and depth. The first sip is strikingly delicious. This is a full-bodied wine with high acidity and high tannins, yet the tannins are among the smoothest you'll encounter. The 15.2% alcohol is perfectly …

Still youthful. Beautiful purple color, not quite to the brick color of aged wine. Still an immense amount of jammy and dried fruit and vanilla. Incredible body. Probably needs 3 to 5 more years or more, but my impatience got the better of me. If you have a bunch, feel free to start trying them, but if you have only a couple bottles, I would save them for a few more years.

Medium Ruby with slight bricking on edge The nose was dominated by rubber and tar with some slight dried dark berries On the palate the texture is starting to thin. Tannins are soft and very integrated. Dominated by leather and the rubber componet (fault??). After 30 minutes or so some dried berry tried to work thru but still fell short The acidity was still medium as was the finish. I feel this is on its last legs or perhaps had …

pristine cork; youthful dark red colour; next-to-no bricking; Somewhat dumb nose. Mostly primary ripe red fruit with cassis. *Big* but silky texture, bordering on milkshake; cocoa powder tannins; very long finish; still fresh and more-ish. Many years of life left

My first QC, quite interesting. I was just finishing a glass of classic left-bank Bordeaux (that had red and black fruit flavors) so the first taste of Quilceda Creek I just thought...BLUE. As in blueberry or blueberry compote. Tannin was not overwhelming, good acidity. Color is deep ruby, very slight tinge of brown on the edge. Day 2 it still seemed to be dominated by blue fruit but also got more on the blackberry spectrum as well. Also noted pencil …

Slowly getting where it needs to go. Decanted 30 minutes before service. In the glass, violet/magenta at the rim, shading quickly to near black at the core. On the nose, currants, pine, and crushed blueberries. On the palate, silky blueberries and cassis on the attack, with forest floor, rosemary, mint, and dried herbs unfolding as tannins gently take over on the finish. We know I won't keep my hands off of this long enough, but really - really! it would …

tannins win out to start until the rich ripe fruit kicks in; some earth and complexity; the big ABV is mostly hidden by the fruit. Amazing with the cheeses and as good a match with the trout and veggies.

This '10 Cabernet Sauvignon from Quilceda Creek was enjoyed at Stonetree with a few friends after a fun round of golf. This wine was served blind by A.M., which made this tasting a bit more fun. This is showing its age in all the right ways - slight red bricking at the rim, tertiary notes starting to become more and more present, black fruited, riper in style, Napa Valley in style, slight graphite, with great wet vineyard floor and toasted …

Crimson in color with bricking at the edge of the glass. 14.9% ABV. Sublime nose of black and blue fruits, licorice, leather and violets. Full bodied with opulent fruits and tremendous balance. Impressive structure and concentration. Black currants, creme de cassis, chocolate truffles and tobacco leaves on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish with prominent, silky tannins. This Cabernet Sauvignon has certainly delivered on all the promise and hype. Best over the next 3-5 years.

Look: dark, plum color Smell: strong bouquet of plum and cherry Taste: Complex, old world characteristics, minerals, jammy, tobacco, prevalent alcohol Conclusion: delightful, originally decanted for 45 minutes before drinking and drank over 1.5 hours with friends. Evolved as we drank. I believe this would benefit from additional cellaring. I feel like we drank this too young. Would give more time in the cellar. Paired with a summer truffle charcuterie sausage would was a wonderful pairing.

This well-structured Cabernet showcases the distinctive character of Washington’s acclaimed wine regions. On the nose, vibrant aromatics of ripe cherry and dark stone fruits immediately draw you in, with the black plum notes providing a rich, velvety foundation. The palate delivers on the promise of the bouquet, opening with bright cherry flavors that seamlessly transition into deeper blackberry and black plum characteristics. The fruit profile is beautifully balanced—neither overly jammy nor austere—reflecting the favorable 2016 growing season in Washington State. …

Violet, deep licorice, herbal nose. Bold flavors immediately covering the palate of big dark fruit, a bit of medicinal mint (in a good way) that quickly yields a pleasant and moderate finish of mature velvety tannins. Flavors are bright but fading. Could possibly improve and finish longer…. But think I’ll be drinking up. Such a huge fruity bomb on release has really matured fantastically.

Aging nicely, still can go a long time. Enjoy now with air or hold 10+ Inky dark ruby. On the nose, black currant, plum, graphite and some oak. Tannins are still a bit tight, but smoothing out. QC wines are built to age and this vintage is no exception. Patience will be rewarded. I’ll be holding on the rest of my bottles another 5+. Bold fruit, but well balanced. Such a great wine.

From my late father’s cellar, this bottle was shockingly youthful for a 20+ year old wine. It also had a clear floral aroma when first opened that persisted for a couple of hours before fading. Not something I have often found in Cabernet Sauvignon, but in this case it added lift to an otherwise bottom heavy wine. It wasn’t as thick/heavy as in its youth, but still had a thickness to the fruit, like a compote more than just juiciness. …

40 minutes in a decanter. While evidencing the QC profile, it lacks the depth of the '03 vintage. Still, an excellent wine and not a crazy price. In addition to black fruits, there was a tangy wineberry / red cassis element with touch of eucalyptus and dried and green herbs plus some sweet Oak.

Black currants, blueberry liqueur, tobacco leaves and chocolate on the palate. The finish is long and supple. Really, delicious and about as Bordeaux like as Quilceda Creek would ever get. Huge, intense, and beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon with tremendous characteristics of cassis, blackberry preserves and licorice. Dark chocolate and extremely earthy, it's one of the best Washington State cabernets I've had in many years of drinking tons of great juice from WA. Truffle steak tartare is a great pairing, but medium-rare Fillet is perfect with a side order of creamy potatoes with garlic butter. French oak and light smoke are evident; perfect compliments to the dusty tannin.
