Lots of fruit. Great evolution.

This was much better on day 2 than day 1. Suddenly there was some life, with acidity balancing the intensity of the fruit. No longer to my taste, but definitely well made.

An interesting wine. Powerful fruit as I've noted with previous bottles. But it's not overripe, in fact it has an engaging bite to it, almost a touch underripe. There is also a good, firm tannin structure that balances the bite nicely. This is not a Saturday night, impress your friends and family wine, but it is a decent drop. No real sign of ageing.

It's medium body with structure. It's so fresh even it's 2006. It doesn't show its age like 2006. Fresh Strawberry, raspberry, asian spice flavor. It just like the new style of Barolo flavor. I expect it has plenty of life. You can drink or keep for many years still.

Loved the Hewitson Private Cellar and this Shiraz doesn't disappoint. Rich purple blackberry with hints of tobacco and leather.

I much preferred this bottle to the last. The balance was far better. Really a solid McLaren Vale shiraz. Quite intense fruit with good acidity and length. I've moved past this style of wine, but this is well made and so has enough to be attractive.

A rugged but elegant 94+/100 (4.1/5.0) from me. Oh this goes down so well! This single vineyard Shiraz hails from Blewitt Springs, Mc Vale and is one of Hewitson's premium drops at $70, cellar door. Not sure this is my cup of tea. It seems out of balance to me, the fruit quite concentrated with lots of acidity, medium bodied, tannins subdued. Will appeal to some, including my partner, but doesn't to me. I just can't get a feel for any real structure or complexity. Will try another bottle to make sure.

I don't try to describe what it taste like to me. It will be different for you. Mi palate, su palate. Lets just say it has smoothed out for the entrance and mid palate. Just a touch acidic withsome tannons at the finish. Still has a few years left in it to mature. Easy drinking.

Rich, powerful, well-rounded syrah that went great with grilled lamb. Really dense fruit dominates but doesn't overpower. A winner.

Hey this was really good. Nose initially had some meatyness, but mostly it was about blue fruit, ink, granite, and yes, some vanilla. It drank really, really well. Certainly had rich fruit, but it had a terrific brightness to it. Round mouthfeel which was framed with pleasant acidity. Minimal tannin.

This needs a bit more time in bottle. Sharp and all over the place teh first night. Sealed and it was much better the second day. The fruit was there but not to over the top with a nice soft menthol edge.

Deep opaque burgundy color. Wonderful aroma of plum, blueberry, vanilla and oak. Very syrupy fruit-forward, mid-palate brings out some spice, long finish with that oakey, sweet jam residing on the back of the throat. Tannins are fairly soft, so drink it if you got it. This is a very rich fruit-driven wine, which for me is a little overpowering and lacking in balance.

Classic Aussie style. Inky purple with a jammy, oak and fruit driven nose along with strong notes of spice and smoke. The palate is a smorgasbord of deli meats, blackberry syrup, vanilla, spice box and liquid smoke. Tannins are completely controlled and exhibit a smooth and slightly sweet finish.

this is totally not my styl it's big and bombastic, but there is no denying the quality of fruit in this bottle. while it's dark and smokey there is definitely a fruit bomb, but the fruit is kept fresh with a definite fresh red raspberry acidity.the vanilla, creme brullee, and burnt sugar are all there but so is the big dark fruit to carry it.

Had this one at restaurant Juuri in Helsinki.Quite discreet nose. Medium bodied palate with vibrant dark toned berries and some liquorice.Rather gentle tannins/acidity.Definitely not a fruit bomb.The style is more elegant than I´m used to in aussi shiraz.Paired well with horse steak.Still lacking a bit in finesse but perhaps a couple of years in the cellar will do the job.
