Basic, right bank Bordeaux. Medium body, easy drinking, fruit forward style wine. Excellent QPR.

I don't understand the naysayers. This is a nice basic Bordeaux. It has appropriate character. It is easy to drink. It gets better over time. And for the price it is a great bargain. I had this at a French restaurant where $100 a bottle wines are common. This was their house house wine and it has become my red house wine at home. Not sure what more you can ask from a $15 bottle of Bordeaux.

Excited by the reviews I saw on this wine so I bought half a case of it. Opened it and it smelled like it might be corked. Very strong foul smell. Smell dissipated some after it sat in the glass for a while, but overall I don't care for it and I am going to take the other bottles back to the store.

A ton of pepper and spice on day one (after 90 minutes in a decanter). I have half a bottle left over so it will be interesting to see if the fruit shines through. Given some of the other reviews, I bet I will like this wine a lot more on day 2.

I think this wine is amazing and a wonderful introduction to St-Emilion wines particularly if you are accustomed to new world wines. There is a lot of fruit here including dark plum and cherry, a bit of espresso bean on the mid palate, followed by that wicked wet limestone mineral finish. I found it rather 'sassy' as these wines go. At $15, this is outstanding value. Can't wait to try 2010 which was a killer vintage for right bank Bordeaux.

First night. Very tight. Decant in the glass, but not giving up much. Second night, 1/3 of the bottle. Stting for a night helped. The wine tasted very young even on night two with harsh tannins still. Almost enjoyable finish. Not as approachable as some other 2009s this early, and probably needs some time. I will probably move to the next candidate for cellar stocking, but would imagine this wine will not be a disappointment with patience or a long …
