tjt - 082022: maybe a hair past prime; but still enjoyable; green forest, dark fruit on nose; medium bodied, direct ftuit; cinnamon, on palate; sl. bitter finish. Even better the second day !! well made and an good QPR 89

My first wine from this winery. I liked and will look for other vintages.

This is still drinking well. At the opening, it was big but well rounded. Notes of black fruit and finishes with chocolate on the tongue. After an hour it had lost some of its spicier zin notes but was still smooth.

Blind California Reds : Vibrant ruby color. Rich red currant, raspberry and plum fruit, slightly jammy and sweet but still vibrant, accentuated by pine needles, fallen leaves, pipe tobacco and rose petals. Large and in-charge on the palate, these tannins add some serious structure to the wine, which shows medium acidity, and that keeps this beast of a wine bright. Darker fruit on the palate, like raspberries mixed with dark plums and blackberries, the fruit is rich and saucy. Notes …

2016 ZAP Trade Tasting, nose of rich, black fruit, dusty earth, with a hint of mocha, very floral nose, more of the same on the palate, tasty, some complexity, medium/big body, long flavorful finish. $35 Retail and probably worth it.
