Popped and poured; did not follow my own directions about decanting the last bottle. Similar to the last bottle but I enjoyed this one a little more. Hard edged and somewhat austere, but acidity, fruit, and tannin were all balanced fairly well for this style of wine. Lots of sediment, a few bigger, crusty chunks, too. This wine definitely keeps my mind open regarding Chilean wines.

Drank 1 bottle after diner. Dark and fairly dense in the glass with brilliant ruby around the edges. Right after pouring the nose is mint, fennel, and…watercress? After much vigorous swirling, the nose seems to soften and expand into rounder, fruitier notes. In the mouth, immediate rasberry and blackberry although hemmed in by a fairly high level of acidity. Tannins are silky and well integrated into the acid component, though, and provide some nice balance in the midpalate. Acidity mellowes …

Tasted over the course of a couple of hours. Poured a beautiful pitch black. Initially, the bouquet and taste was a little sour. Started to open up in a few minutes. Nose had pencil shavings and tart fruit. Palate had very light mouth feel with initial taste of tart raspberries, earth and green vegetables. Mid palate was light and had a long pleasant finsih of lead pencil more pencil shavings. Previous reviewer's description of "dusty" was spot on. Good tannin …

A nice nose redolent of dry hedgerows and sawdust. Lovely ripe fruit on the palate. Very Good Indeed.
