A surprise bump up on this bottle. Nose is quite beautiful with classic tar and floral notes. Palate has plenty of mellow nebbiolo fruit and moderate acid, with a soft tannin hit at the end.

Might rise to a 90, but that's about it. My notes from 2018 still pertain, not much has changed since then. Pleasing but not outstanding.

More open than 30 months ago, relaxing, with some tertiary notes on opening; still noticeably alcoholic (14%) but not offensively so. Prunes are fading into something more floral. Color now showing age at the rim. Prediction: will peak in 2 years and decline soon after; drink now-2023.

Has not fulfilled its promise noted in January 2016. Alcoholic, with prunes setting in. Cribbed on nose and palate, short on the finish. Unpleasant alone; needs food in the range of veal, pasta, parmigiano, butter, olive oil, herbs.

A pleasant enough barolo, with a good nose with some floral and mineral quality. Palate is medium bodied with dark fruit, some earthiness, and pleasing tannins that carry on for a bit.

"Riserva" bottling. Not decanted. Hazy mahogany-brick red color. Initial notes of varnish, acetone, and pine resin blew off to reveal a partially maderized bouquet with roasted cashews, caramel, faded red cherries and berries, aromatic wood chips, chai tea, leather, dried roses, and sweet humus. Similar on the palate, smooth and mellow, enjoyable for those who like over-the-hill wines with interesting personalities. Did not fade or further maderize in the glass, but instead freshened and gained some more notes of red …

Very reserved. I think 2006 must be a very tannic vintage, as this had the same amount of tannin as the Produttori dB from 2006. There is something underneath, but needs another 5-10 years to find it.

Brownish nuances, surprisingly absence of sedimemts. Hoping for some sort of fireworks and tried from opening until 2.5hrs of decanting, remains a rather simple and bland wine. Sufficent tannins and acidity? Fruit maybe a bit low but earthy notes startimg to show. Rather short and shallow finish. Based on this bottle I don't expect further improvement. Drinkable, but to my taste that is about it.

PnP Second bottle, better than the last. It has developed some nebbiolo characeristics, a bit of underbrush and some floral on the nose. Still nothing to wow but I was pleasantly surprised given my last bottle was just, "there."

It was there. Nothing wrong with it, but no real magic either. What I can say is there was no sense of heat or green, so I had that going for me. Red fruits, some oak, nothing terribly out of place.

PNP. Dinky little soft cork wet 3/4 up, but the fill is outstanding. Almost orange color and a little cloudy. Nose has orange rind and carmelized secondary notes. Swishing this shows everything I dislike about old Italian. Tea and tannin, no fruit. Sipping on the other hand allows it to show more balance and some salinity. Pleasant enough and probably better tasting than me at age 50 :) Decanted given recent press on decanting old Barolo I did it. I …

Kirsebær, bringebær, litt lær og hint av tobakk. Syren dominerer over den frukten som er igjen. På topp etter omlag 3 timer i karaffel da fruktsødmen er på sitt beste. Frisk med lang ettersmak. Savner litt kompleksitet.
