Purchased on release. Just popped and poured. Surprisingly young color. An aromatic wonderland, fruit- and herb-wise. Can’t specify the herbal aromas spinning around but the fruit is red and blue berries, including currants and strawberries, and pomegranates. These follow through on the palate with freshness, nice balancing acidity and just a hint of tannins, but would like a bit more structure, as well as a longer finish as it was so delish on the palate that the med- length finish …

Still tasting great right now !! I agree with my tasting notes over the past three years. Composite cork starting to show some saturation after over a decade in the bottle. Consumed over three days. This wine improved with air. On day two and three this wine had softened with increased depth and integrated complexity. Deep ruby color with no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of pomegranate and cranberry. Flavors of black cherry, raspberry compote, rhubarb, and black tea with a …

On day two this wine had softened with increased depth and integrated complexity. Deep ruby color with no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of pomegranate and cranberry. Flavors of black cherry, raspberry compote, rhubarb, and black tea. This Pinot Noir has a medium to long finish. A balanced and flavorful Pinot …

I agree with my previous notes. Still lots of life remaining in the wine, I still have two more bottles of this vintage remaining and will revisit again soon.

One notch off my previous rating from a year ago. The composite cork was perfect after a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days. Deep ruby color with no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of cranberry, pomegranate, and rose hips. Flavors of bing cherry, red raspberry, and black tea with a hint of baking spice. This Pinot Noir has a medium finish. This age worthy wine is a balanced and flavorful Pinot Noir that has more years of life left. …

Nice bright acid which was a pleasant surprise after 11 years.

Wow, age has been kind to this wine. The color is still bright, the acid has softened, drinking real well now. Aromma typical of SRH, flavors of ripe red raspberries, medium finish. I'm glad I hung on to more.

A little bricking on this eight-yer-old wine, the nose has s lit of secondary notes. The palate has a lot of secondary notes with some good cherry, a lot of cola, and spice. I do like this, although it is hotter on the palate than the ABV would suggest at 14.1%. Good wine, though not the best of this crazy night. It has been open for a full day

Good, typical BC fruit and herb combo. Not as complete on the finish as most from those guys. Good plus but no more. (87)

Lovely wine from Greg Brewer. It is certainly well-made, with very expressive fruit, despite the age. A nose full of red fruit, subtle white flowers, forest floor and a strong scent of rose petals meet up at first sniff. Being well-balanced and integrated there is no doubt this effort is the result of skilful winemaking. Of course there is no heat, oak appears balanced as does the acidity and fruit. The 2009 Sta. Rita Hills Pinot will perhaps continue to …

Burgundy color with a bouquet and flavor of raspberries and cherries with some Burgundy spiciness in the finish. Not a very big wine but still pleasant. No use keeping it cellared. Drink it up.

The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like cherry and forest floor. It tastes like cherry and mushroom. The body is light/medium. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Drank over two days, better on the first day and at cellar temperature vs room temperature. Opens with crisp and ripe bing cherry with some black raspberry flavors. Good intensity. Excellent QPR. Drinking well now but still youthful.

Definitely better now than my previous note in 2012. Ruby red, no thinning at the edges. The nose is bright red fruit, anise, and purple flowers. Medium plus body, nicely plump with bright red fruit like cherry and strawberry dominating. Good acidity and medium plus finish. Tremendously food friendly and definitely hitting its stride.

Much easier to drink than I would have thought. Sure it had all of the overthetopness of C-noirs but the age seemed to soften it, round out the corners and tone down the volume. Bright perfumed nose giving way to dark cherries on the palate. Balance with "enough" complexity (I thought it lacked enough depth) and a long finish. Maybe not a "go to" C-noir but they certainly redeemed their image in my view with this bottling.

This is a somewhat more nuanced style of Cali-pinot. Has the fruit, but not as sweet as it might get in some cases. It also has very refreshing acidity, that makes this wine very pleasant to drink. Matches well with food also!

Bright red color translucent. On the nose, tart cherries, pomegranate, a bit of tar/rubber. On the palate, tart cherries and strawberries with smoky ash notes and nice acidity. Feels very young. Finishes a bit green (stems) with bitter notes and ashes and an alcoholic kick that is a bit too hot. Everything but the finish in this wine is good. A lot going on for $25 but i wish the bitter notes and alcohol would integrate.

VG Cali Pinot Noir. Beautiful nose, light in color but lots of flavor, somewhat high in alcohol but it dissapated as the wine opened up. Good fruit with complexity. Could use some terroir. Expensive wine.

Dark and cloudy... Burly cherry flavors, dried strawberry and bramble with a touch of greenness that I find appealing. Earth, spice and ash tones chime in with medium body to back it up. Ample acidity and alcohol. Long pleasant finish

What a surprisingly good pinot for the price. It was delicate, spicy, warm, and elegant. Similar to Julia's vineyard, which is one of my favorite sources for pinot noir. I love to find this quality wine at a reasonable cost.

Medium garnet. Nose of wet earth, red berries, cherry cough medicine, and is that a hint of vanilla? On the palate it is bright red berry, a touch of green on the sides of the tongue, medium body, good acidity. Just a touch thin, or it would be a 90+. Very enjoyable.

From Lompoc tasting room. Really was looking forward to this and hoping I would really like their pinots but these just didn't do it for me or more wife. Hard to decribe why but the fruit just didn't seem right to me. More dominated by earth, tea, and herbal qualities. Makes an interesting mid palate with different tastes coming through - I just didn't really enjoy any of them. Probably really well made but just not my thing. Btw, very …

Opened and poured, this wine showed notes of red cherry, spice, earth on floral notes on the bouquet. The color displays a vibrant, translucent medium ruby. The medium bodied palate shows balance and length on the finish where subtle tannins and acidity become evident. This drinks well now and should develop nicely over the next year or two.

Picked this one up as part of a collection of Greg and Steve's wines in Lompoc this weekend. We were staying at a great B&B in SLO (the Sanitarium) and decided to open this one up for fun out on the balcony while enjoying the warm January central coast Mistral breezes. With some air out of some good Pinot stems this wine delivered with a lovely dark plum nose along with some of the great high toned red cherry/mint/strawberry fruit …
