Thirty minute double decant, followed by 2-3 hour slow ox. Nearly opaque purple color. Black cherry, freeze dried raspberry, powdered sugar, and thyme. Smooth, dry palate. Firm, spicy, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish.

Aromas of blue fruit, deep ruby color, stilllwith some tannin bite, medium body , nice mouth feel . It will be better in a couple of years… or maybe just a longer decant

Splash double decant. Deep dark intense magenta color. Chocolate covered black cherry, slate, violet, boysenberry syrup, and pomegranate skin. Smooth, slightly tongue drying, full bodied palate. Full tannins on the medium long finish. This is extremely fruit forward. Borderline syrupy. Good party wine. I don’t think FF is supposed to be a second wine, but it sure acts like one. The “normal” estate CS is noticeably better. TRB is said to be THE winemaker (not just consultant).

2023 Napa in the City: Gala Dinner (The Pool in NYC) : Initial impression is all big and intense and fruity and dark but you can tell that underneath that initial taste there’s some restraint to the wine and it does soften in the glass. Needs a lot of time.
