La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Second - New York NY) : Walkaround tasting with the producers. plush orchard fruit with faint tropical hints, all with just enough energy. Good already now.

Still youthful. Sharp acidity. Medium nose intensity with notes of grapefruit, lemon, apple.

The one with Luca Roagna (Teochew Paradise) : This definitely needed a bit of time in glass to show well. On first pour, this was reductive with lemon oil, grapefruit and yellow flowers. Palate was showing too lean with shrilling acidity. Over the course of lunch, I revisited this a few times and towards the 2 hour mark, this started to blossom quite nicely - grapefruit and lemon oil still dominated the bouquet with jasmine, yellow peaches and starfruit coming …

Loved this. Definitely took a little bit of air to show best, but by 20-30 minutes in, this was singing! Sharp and precise, with lovely acidify and bright fruit. Nice bit of reduction too, the style of this wine is right in my wheelhouse.

Incredibly tight and acidic at first, perhaps also a bit reductive, such that I was worried it wasn't correct. Fleshed out a bit with air, with a lovely silky texture, but still dominated by acid right now. Needs time.

Salty, lemony nose. A bit of oak, toffee. Green apples, flint and spices, very expressive. Clean and poised fruit. Too young, of course. Great wine in the making. In Beaune.

Nice straw color with a bit of pale gold when swirling it around the Zalto Bourgogne glass. Nose was still reductive but quite inviting as well. Citrus fruits, tropical fruits and the true winners here with the butter, unpopped popcorn, well-integrated oak and slight hint of flint. White flowers and a touch of green herbs to round it off. Just smelling this made my mouth water... Now the palate was actually a bit different than expected. As the dominating factor …

Un vin avec juste un peu de réduction, citron, une belle intensité et énergie, une belle chair aussi avec une tension bien dosée et une belle finale de longueur appréciable et savoureuse. 93-94 A wine with a touch of reduction, nice energy, intensity and depth, with good backbone and some flesh around it, nice fairly lenghty and delicious finish. Very “Chassagne like” in my mind.
