Way better than reviews give credit. Appreciated the rec to decant for 30min. Nose is limited but fruit is good and structure is balanced. Best attribute may be the smooth finish. Strong QPR versus Rhone, which means it crushes CA.

To me this drinks more like a syrah/grenache blend than a mourvedre/grenache blend…that is, smooth and almost creamy with hints of vanilla. I agree with the most recent notes. This is very good but not great nor that distinct. I prefer their entry level Monastrell to this. Agree that the Molar (grenache) tops this as well.

A fragrant and light-drinking garnacha. The nose and initial attack are the best parts - floral, delicate - but after that the body is thin with a short, slightly acidic finish. Given the sweetly spiced fruits on the nose and palate I would would drink this now and not hold. Great value but doesn’t hold up to a southern Rhone grenache.

Dark red color. On nose, mint, dark cherry, strawberry. Palate similar flavor profile to nose. Full body, medium acidity/tannins and long finish. Nice value. 90-91 range.

Bottle 1349g. Moderately intense aromas of jammy red and black fruit, with some sweet spice, a floral top note and some unexpected freshness – stems? Dry, with moderate to elevated fresh acidity, medium to full-bodied, 14.5°, showing a little heat. Moderate, grippy tannins. Black and red fruit on the palate with an herbal component. Moderate length. Fresher and less of a fruit bomb than a lot of Jumilla. I thought I bought Monastrell but this turns out to be Garnacha.

Dark ruby with a nose and palate of cherry, rhubarb and muted vanilla. Improved only slightly with a decant. A very good wine, but not the 95 points that one critic scored it. Despite the 14.5 alcohol and haling from warm Jumilla, this Monastrell with a dollop of Granacha is medium-bodied and even elegant. My one criticism of this wine is that the winery makes the El Molar, a similar and much less expensive Granacha that is just as good.

Showed well after a bit of coaxing in the glass. Precise nose reminiscent of blueberry muffins and strawberries. Some nice sage/rosemary aromas. On the palate, plummy with good acid and structure. Overall elegant and balanced. Am told this is 80-90% Mouvedre with the rest being Grenache. Had half the bottle and left the rest in the fridge. Tried the next evening but it wasn't as nice.

Decanted for 3 hours. Wine with an almost purple color from ungrafted vines at 400-800 meters in Jumilla, south east Spain. Aromatic nose with rich cherries, blackberries, plum, licorice, herbs (bay leaf), ceder, hints of chocolate. On the palate cherries, blackberries, plum. Very nice with medium acidity, medium to long finish with a bit of heat from the alcohol

15.5% Monastrell with Garnacha and Syrah. Deep ruby. earthy black fruit and spice on the nose. Velvety full body, black fruit (a touch stewed), spice, floral notes, and some of that Monastrell smoke. Firm tannic spine, still youthful.

Cherry marmalade, prune, lavender, hint of earth. On the palate it starts with ripe blueberry and plum fading into sweet licorice, violet and black pepper. Silky tannin and fresh acidity. Not overly extracted and well balanced despite the 15.5% ABV.

I was expecting something similar to a Juan Gil wine like the delicious Clio that is a Spanisg fruit bomb, not this.Medium bodied. The wine is OK....round and very very mineral. High acidity and alcohol makes the wine somewhat unbalanced. I am reading the reviews while sniffing the wine and I have to say that I get the dark/blue fruit but also red...go figure. I don´t get the usual leather notes, but I do get a LOT of minerality here …

Pungent leather with plums, black cherry and red berry fruit with balsamic drizzle. Full bodied and powerful but not particularly heavy. Half of it was decanted on day 1, the remainder drank about as well on day 2. 91-92.

Decent, not spectacular. Blue and black fruit nose, mild Mourvedre funk on opening that dissipates. Dark fruit attack, high acidity and alcohol wrestle for control. Shirt finish. Not overtly roasted despite high alcohol, but also in a meta-stable balance that I doubt will be sustained with aging.

The wine was dark ruby in colour and reductive at first. The reductive notes blew off after two hours in a decanter and the nose opened up to ripe fruit, smoke, cough drop, spices and liquorice. I really like this wine. Tried for the first time at a restaurant outside of Wake Forest in Winston Salem. Very soft mouth-feel but nice acidity. Smoked meats on the nose. Not Pinot but there is a certain similar elegance - like drinking lace.
