Nice easy cali cab. Classic in style if a little light. Good bottle, no rush. Went well with beef, cheese and bread.

Almost identical to note posted on 08/28. Really pretty classic cali cab, this gained a little weight and was showing a little more with an hour in the decanter. Seems to have more time left than CT estimates.

This wine smells of black cherry, cola, chocolate, a little oak, and maybe a little cassis. The palate really does follow the nose, with an emphasis on the cherry, cassis, cola and some spice. This tastes very much like a Cali cab, but everything is reduced and much lighter than you might expect. Pretty classic in style, this is a good wine to introduce your friends to Napa without shocking their taste buds. I like this wine more than I …

Soft nose of dark fruits. Traditional Napa style. Easy drink for those that like a medium bodied Cab. Very smooth. Evenly balanced but has the tannins that leave a 10-15 second finish.

A cab on the softer side ... very tasty on a warm day. Dark fruit (plums, blackberries, etc) on the nose and palate with balanced tannins and acidity. Very enjoyable!

Nice balance, some mild spice, nice gentle nose... drinking very well Blackberry and jammy fruit, an overtone of sweetness and medium finish a little straight forward but I like that classic NAPA fruit Best in 2017-2021

Nice cabernet. Nose is a little restrained at first. After an hour or two aroma really opened up and fruit flavors developed with medium long finish. Not a candidate for PNP. Needs more time in bottle or decant for one hour minimum.

Medium purple with a nose of sweet red fruit and spices. Double decanted and poured 2 hours later. Still too young. Black cherry, blackberry, cola, anise, chocolate and spice with high tannins. This needs another couple or more years in the cellar.

Very good. Dark ruby color brings a lovely initial taste. Chocolate after effects with lingering finish. Agree with winemaker notes on good chalky tannins. Good for the price compared to the pricier silver oak or hall cabs.

Chocolate nose. Black fruit, mocha, moderate tannin and acid gives it some length. Well put together and balanced. Classic nv cab.

Markham has always been one of the most consistant and reliable Napa producers of every day red wines for my palate. This refined and balanced aged Cabernet boasts quality notes of blackberry, cassis and plum with a cedar plank backdrop. Still firm, and with defined tannic structure, this wine has held up quite well over the years. An interesting, brisk paced ending echoing creamy mocha and smoky oak. Best now

Medium dark red wine. Light nose of fruit and oak. Flavors dominated by tannins and oak. There are hints of dark fruit in the background. Wine needs more time or opened to breath for at least a few hours.

Great blackberry and dark cherry aromas and flavors. A very short finish with focused fruit and a little oak at the end.

First pour , this wine eudes both a nose and flavor reminiscent of a higher quality cab. After 15 minutes, the wine loses it's viscosity andthe flavor simplifies to a cherry nuance. Completely appropriate at this qpr, but it started with such promise. If you have any left, stop cellaring & start drinking! It's at its prime if not just past.

Pleasant wine with very few subtleties. Primarily cherry finish with hints of tocacco. Tannins were well proportioned to give some balance. Nose belied the complexity or lack thereof. Worth the price but not by much.

Bought at the winery in 2002 on my honeymoon. What a pleasant surprise...Opened and poured. Very deep garnet, smell of baked plums and currant,on the palate is very smooth and silky, tastes just like it smells, tannins well integrated and not obtrusive. Drunk with meatloaf-was perfect. Will hold for at least 5 more years.Should get me some more,if can find.

Decent amount going on on the nose. Cherry tobacco w/ a hint of vanilla and some earthiness coming through. A bit of a disappointment on the palate as it didn't taste as complex as the nose led me to believe. Tons of cherry w/ very little left of the tannins. Possibly past its peak.

A very humble wine. Although the first pour teased you with an aroma reminescent of a bordeaux style, it lacks depth and body to warrant a better score. Nonetheless, a good effort, pleasant all around with all the subtleties the most of the other contributors related.

Very nice Cali Cab, went well with our filets. Deep currant, blackberry flavors, rich and velvety, nice finish. Drink up however, it did fall apart slightly on the second glass.

Deep purple colour, hardly any fading. Rich, concentrated, good fruit, complex. While not cheap, stacks up very well from a value point of view - no way I'd trade 4 of these for (say) a Mondavi Reserve or Beringer PR. A pleasure to drink now, but doubtless some years of improvement ahead.
