Seemed a bit muddled. Fruit forward but a bit off balance. Pleasant, but not wow.

Same bottle, five days later (stayed in a cool dry corner of the cellar), and it is much better. The nose and palate and far more balanced, fwiw. Longer finish, more enjoyable with small meats. It was clearly the same wine, but progressed. My conclusion- maybe it needed some slow decanting? second tasting of same bottle- 91 (maybe even 91+), for what a single number means. Very good BD deal, classic Grenache tastes. On PnP the herbs were (indeed) very dominate. It took some time for the fruit to balance and come forward on nose and palate. About 2 hours later it was indeed well balanced. The raspberries/strawberries do come to the front. Very good introductory grenache blend, so to speak and makes great match both for drinking on its own, and for base for other dishes (we used about 1 glass for Hungarian goulash and …

Really enjoyed this Rhone blend. Nose of fresh picked raspberries, scorched earth and damp herbs. On the palate it was round and soft with notes of more fresh picked berries, forest floor, tea leaf, and baking spice on the back end. Beautifully balanced.
