Cantine Giacomo Ascheri Barbera d'Alba

N. Cooked berries, earthy notes, moss, herbs, T. Good acidity, the wine is aging very nicely. Wonderful marmelade/jam taste, hints of dryed strawberry, complex and balanced; long finish with green notes, flintstone and bitterness , quite interesting. I bought this wine at the vineyard nearly ten years ago, what a pleasant journey it made. Hopefully not the last bottle, need to check in my cellar in Germany… Warning: the journey is nearly over, the wine goes down after 30 minutes …

Good dark fruit with a clean finish. Good value.

Blackberry and plum with a slightly sweet start, but a dense, meaty and savory middle. Very food friendly.

Enkel og rett fram Barbera, fruktig smak av røde bær, god syre, svært lite tannin, ikke særlig interressant men god vin.

Short note. Fresh and easy drinking Barbera with a backbone. Nice!

gone with a whole bbq beef fillet … easy drinking.. the acidity continues to soften not a great deal of complexity but a vgv ...

acidity has softened in this wine since I last tried one… lots of cherry fruit, still snappy and fresh… lovely drop

really bright and vibrant, red cherries, massive acidity which was tamed with some rare steak … this will need a while to settle down, super value well made, would buy a lot more if i had the space !!
