I read the other reviews from those who tasted this vintage a few years back as being a bit sweet. I'm glad we waited until 2025 to taste this. We didn't find Poppone 2016 as sweet by April 2025. Actually we loved the freshness it still shows. Yes ripe plum, but not prune. A bit of cherry like a Ciliegiolo, but with more body and roundness. We liked it so much, we ordered 6 bottles of 2021 for future pleasure. …

Definite plum leaning prune on the palate....good spice and decent complexity....has a bit of a grape juice character on the PNP... Has a sweet note to it which detracts for my palate...
