Medium yellow. Intense orchard fruit, honey, hay, lanolin, a touch of petrol, rocks. Sweet, mouth watering malic acid, spicy apples, medium length.

Lovely bottle, seemingly at its apogee with excellent acidity and energy underlying spiced apple fruit and slate minerality; outstanding sugar/acid balance. No rush to drink this. Cellared since original release.

High intensity nose shows classic petrol, dried white flowers, white mint, jasmine, lemon peel, apple core. Palate shows citrus notes of lime juice, lemon seed, apricot, high acidity is juicy, finish shows new notes, nice hint of sweetness, candied orange peel, nice complexity at the end, low alcohol, medium plus length that is beautifully subtle.

Spatlese. Not a typical VK. Mostly fruit masks the acidity and/or minerality. 2010 I so much better.

The latter consistently comes at the end of the profile. An ungainly feel queries slight oxidisation. It's probably just the character of this wine though, because the acidity, which is present in stomach-corruscating abundance, is not at all angular/elegant. Instead, it's delivered like a fully turned on tap. That, plus the kerosine, makes the …

My first experience of riseling from the Mosel. Wow! What a contrast. This really is unique and has created its own place in my arsenal of wine selection. great nose of petrol, and rubber, with acidity supporting. Medium sweetness comes through, high acidity, light bodied. Tropical fruits, pineapple, very long. Would work great with a salty snack before (or after) dinner.

Delicious, true to type, lovely hint of sweetness, lime, apple, minerals, fluffy, good intensity and finish. Drink young.
