In a decanter for only 30min and probably needs 2 hours. Lots of leather, lavender or dried flowers with chalk overpowering the dark fruit. Long life ahead. Would drink now with rich dinner, but would wait 5+ years if drinking on its own.

Red and dark berries, some herbs and spiciness, juicy and round with also some sticky tannin and a touch of sweetness in the finish.

Lovely, big wine, drinking really well right now. Juicy dark fruit, tannins are strong but well integrated; nice mint, tobacco and an earthy, chalkiness as well. Lovely long finish.

Rich dark fruits with a decent dose of tannin. Lovely, needs food but no hurry with this one.

Served 2 Magnums of this at our wedding, and it was very well-received. One of my favorite wines of an evening with many, many wine choices. Most of my 2015 Bordeaux's (right and left bank) have been tight and powerful and not as approachable as the 2016s. This was an exception. It opened up nicely. It is a big ripe wine (14.5% alcohol). Cherries and blackberries on the palate. Long finish with mint and spices. Might need some air to …

Lovely dark fruit, good lift, nice oak. Should continue to improve but easy to enjoy now. Truly the only thing missing was intensity of flavor. A pleasure to drink.

Big ripe wine, maybe a little flabby. I didn't find the oak overwhelming, but just not a lot of structure. This was PNP rather than decant. Checked it out following Neal Martin's generally negative view 10 years on for a number of the higher merlot 2015's

Mentholated herbs and hints of clove offset masses of crushed cherries and blackberries as the fruit-centric 2015 Chateau Larcis Ducasse slowly opens in the glass. This is a juicy effort with vibrant acdiity and ripe wild berry fruits complemented by nuances of mint and spice. This finishes chewy and long, with edgy tannins that add a slight drying sensation as a bitter tinge of black currant lingers on. (ninety-two)

Icons of Bordeaux: The 2015 Vintage (New York, NY) : Tasted at the Icons of Bordeaux: The 2015 Vintage at Pier Sixty in New York. Presented by David Suire. Suire described Larcis Ducasse's terroir on the famous south-facing slope of Saint-Émilion (the Côte Pavie), which features a complex patchwork of clay and limestone soils. Unlike the plateau, these slopes contain what locals call "molasse" - a white clay with more than 70% chalk content. Despite abundant sunshine from the southern …

Sense of muted fruit dominated by leather, graphite, and savory tobacco. Well structured, if slightly off balance. Good nonetheless and more age should smooth things out.

Wine tastes over oaked (or over extracted) at this stage, making the drinking experience unpleasant today. Ordered 2 cases of this En Primeur because the 2010 vintage was a total pleasure bomb at the same age (also with massive oak influence but in a smooth/plush/pleasant way). Well these are clearly very different wines at age 5.

This was an oak bomb for me last night, and not the cedar chest, cigar box type of oak - this was charred and unpleasant. I didn't recognize it as Bordeaux. The high abv (14.5%) luckily wasn't too noticeable. The tannins were a bit drying. I don't know if there is sufficient fruit to outlast the massive oak. This may be great in 15+ years, but I don't like it at this stage. After a glass, I put this in …

Consumed over 2 days (stored in Somm du Vin), note from day 2. Appearance: Clear, deep garnet from core to rim. Nose: Clean, medium intensity with developing aromas of dark fruit - blackberry & plum, bell pepper, cedar, and black dirt. Palate: medium acid, medium+ tannin is softened, medium+ body, medium+ intensity, 14.5% abv with developing flavors of plum, spice, and earth with a medium+ finish. Balance: Very Good-Excellent Length: Excellent Intensity: Excellent Complexity: Excellent Big and deep, brooding and …

Still too early to show what it really has, but the potential is there. There is a stoney, limestone, earthy element along with significant dryness on the finish. I believe a phrase Suckling used was 'oyster shell' and that sounds very accurate. Classy and enjoyable but still far from fully formed.

From 375 PnP and then time in glass. Beautiful mouthfeel, structure, lift and flavor delivery. It attacks with sour red fruit, dark currants, slightly underripe blackberries, dark coffee, mulch. Tannins have melted yet still play a prominent role in its delivery. Me likey. Hold for further evolution yet the package is already enjoyable now if like young and/or have enough to check in. Another great wine for its price point.

With 2 hour double aeration/decant this wine was drinking beautifully. This is a big wine in terms of dense dark black fruits/plum but also has a solid structure with firm but manageable tannins. Long, long finish. Will age for a long time but drinking well with aforementioned decant

Pouring deep deep red almost black. Fantastic nose with Serious Base notes of Raw Game, vanilla bean, Dried red cherry, Black soil, Cassis with hints of sandalwood and cigar wrapper. For some reason the Anvil of Crom popped into my head while pondering these aromatics. Dry palate entry, crushed oyster shell, Dark Red and Blue Fruits, Density & Power, Pencil, spicy finish with palate cleansing acidity. Even though alc. 14.5% no sense of heat. Tannins are noticeable but, not obtrusive. …

Dark profile in the nose and palate. Plums, black currant, tobacco. Some toast from the oak, but no vanilla. I described the tannins as silky, other taster found them harsher than me.

Still a baby. I opened this up 90 minutes ago and it's starting to open up. It tases very out of balance with a lot more acidity at first, but then calms down. I get a woodsy floral nose and the oak is recapitulated on the palate. After 2 hours, it's starting to get the dark berry flavors, but not to the level that I am reading in the TN below. The tannins are a little soft as well at …

Deep ruby with garnet hues. Medium plus intensity on the nose. Chocolate, plum, tobacco and blackcurrants. The new oak treatment evident. Medium acidity and medium plus tannins. Long finish. Would benefit from additional aging.

Strangely, enjoyed this less than the first bottle. It seems very primary with an overbearing oak presence. Based on this bottle, I'd let it sit 5-10 more years to get some secondary notes and have things balance out a bit more.

More on the secondary side, with its earthy and tobacco character, followed by semi tart red fruits in the finish.
