Bay Area Les Amis de Bourgogne Holiday Dinner (Aziza, San Francisco) : OK, sure, this is huge oak and extraction. But wow, the exotic wild fruit and flavor! Huge nose of sweet wood, BBQ elements, sweet soy and hoison. Many at the table despised it, but call me a sucker for the bodacious, I didn’t mind it. Sure it’s oaky, sure it’s extracted, but who says you need elegance 24/7?
