PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs -med dark red minimal bricking -ripe dark berry a little funk touch of spice -med acidity, slight spritz, med concentration/weight somewhat faded dark fruits earth licorice iodine, med chalky tannins -slightest hint of spritz may be a flaw, otherwise quite pleasant moderately complex and interesting Bierzo that is not over-ripe or over-oaked, prob at or near peak

Color is ruby, medium +. Nose is clean, medium with fruit (cherry, blackberry), earth, and a bit of wine-making stink (reductive?). Palate is dry, medium + body with flavors following the nose. Tannins are medium (and a touch stalky) and the acidity is medium. Raspberry conserve? Flavor intensity is medium with the tannins eventually dominating. Overall this is good wine which emphaizes its fruit character. An interesting example of Mencia, works at $15.
