Dark brickish red with orange around the rim. Beautiful aromas of dried florals, dried candied dark red fruits, brown spice and hint of tobacco. The palate truly shines - silky and sweet dark red berries, just a hint of savory spice, good acidity, melting tannins and a long perfumed finish. What a great QPR.

This wine far exceeded my expectations, as I was not familiar with the producer and the reviews seem to be somewhat mixed. It had a great deal of depth, was in a perfect drinking window right now and had that gorgeous highly floral and perfumed nose, along with gorgeous fruit and terrific balance. In a very good place now. Classic Barolo style. This is not opulent but very well made with and inviting nose and wonderful balance. Good but not exceptional length. Great food wine ( from fish to pasta to pork). I think other notes are right, this could last a while longer. Remains fantastic value

Opened but did not need to decant. Paired with a garlic-balsamic seared pork chop, olive rice, and asparagus. Light, pale red with a brown hue. The floral nose brings cherry blossoms, lavender, red roses, and some petrol notes. The palate is medium, round, juicy, and lively, bring a solid core of red fruit (cherries, raspberries, strawberries) mixed with some black licorice, Manhattan bitters, and some anise. Elegant, dark red with bricking at the edges. Notes of sweet cherry, black raspberry, sweet spices, and streak of minerality. Still a bit tannic so best to slow for an hour or so. In a great spot now but easily cruise for 5-7 more years. Wish I had a couple more bottles!

Decanted for three hours. Very light, transparent, brick color. Very strong tannins. Smell of red fruits and roses. At first was getting strawberry notes and later transitioned to cherry notes. Cocoa on the finish. Beautiful wine.

Not a Barolo fan, especially young, but this one keeps me coming back. It might be the touch of sweetness on the palate. The wine isn't for the traditionalists. I agree with the reviewer below, it's more of a Pinot lover's Barolo. No harsh tannins or tar in its infancy, just a lovely wine. Purchased thanks to Giacomo's recommendation at Enoteca Costantini, Rome. Hope to find more at the store in November.

Reddish orange in color. Opened this alongside the 2007. Beautiful aromas of candied red berry fruit, florals, cinnamon and clove. Super silky and elegant in the mouth showing sweet crushed red berries, hint of menthol, medium acidity, gentle tannins and a long floral and baking spice perfumed finish. This is a very pretty Barolo. Just about everything about the 2008 is more amped up compared to the 2007.

Drank 2.5 hours after decanting (the initial taste after opening was a bit raw). The color is quite light for a Barolo, but still crimson with hints of brown. The nose has cranberries and sweet cherries with whiffs of mushroom and cloves. The palate has less (but the same) fruit and more spice and earth. Dark candied fruit with a wonderful inner sweetness of fruitcake. Notes of mint, blood orange, and a fluttering touch of fleeting rose petal. Fine soft tannins and wonderful clarity all made this a very enjoyable bottle.

Nice upon opening, but gets bigger with air (finished by hour 2). Powerful, tarry, skunky, good acidity. I liked it, but too much acid and tar for my dining companion. I think there is plenty of concentrated fruit and it will get better and better with time in bottle.

Great QPR with this traditional Barolo (from Lazzarito in Serralunga d'Alba). Deep colour. Aromatic with tar, rose petal, red cherry, mint, spice and cut herb perfumes. On palate, for a 10 year old Serralunga Barolo, surprisingly accessible. Approachable, elegant and seemingly lighter weight. Red and black fruit on palate, with savoury, umami nuances. Pretty perfumed, with notes of red cherries, menthol, mint, also some tar, but also some dried fruits and some herbal notes. The aromatics are pretty typical Serralunga, but the structure and body is a little lighter. It‘s medium+ bodied, with medium+ acidity and medium+ tannin. It‘s balanced and drinking beautifully now, but lacks the mid-palate density and structure of the truly great Serralunga Baroli. But then again, the price is super attractive too. An excellent value for mid-term drinking.

2-3 hour decant. Poured a taste upon opening - herb garden in a glass! minty menthol, red fruit. Chewy tannins makes it tough to sip. 3 hours later it's opened up more. but the tannin is not going away. I'd leave it for 5+ years before trying more.
