T-Vine Cellars Zinfandel Bacigalupi Vineyard

Big, rich zin. (91+)

Opened another bottle of these -- still think it's a great wine. Even more unique spice notes of cardamom and tumeric are beginning to come into focus as it evolves. Still features the sage and eucalyptus that defined it a year and a half ago, but really evolving beautifully. Awesome wine.

I don’t normally go for the big, jammy Zins, but when presented with this wine, I found it pretty enticing. All manner of black jammy fruit, herbs and a smokey element. Fairly resolved tannins. Would pair well with saucy braised short ribs.

I love this wine -- I'll say that from the outset. The nose on this wine is filled with eucalyptus, smoke and sage, it's very unique. On the front end there's a hint of sweetness and jam, but it gives way to nicely balanced red fruit and finishes with some fresh acidity that keeps it food friendly. Medium body, great texture.

I couldn’t find anything specific on the nose. It was full in the mouth but no specific fruit. Not at all heavy on the tannins with a long finish that was a little more acid than I like. I might just be having a bad night tasting.

Red fruit on the nose. I'm told by my sommelier friend that it is "too jammy". I ordered another case a while back. I guess I like Jammy.

Nice full bodied zin. Needs to open a bit.
