{screwcap, 14.5%} Youthful ruby/purple colour. Arresting nose of blackberry jam, milk chocolate, black pepper and spice. Seasoning of oak only. Palate is medium/full weight, lots of ripe black berry flavour, low/medium acidity, low dusty tannins, gentle oak, plummy character too. Tangy and sweetly-fruited, verging on cloyingly so. Something of a hole in the mid palate for me, not what I’d expect from Victorian Shiraz. Should mellow a bit over five years or so, but I wouldn’t be counting on great …
