CWG Tasting - Domaine Trevallon (Boekenhoutskloof) : A prominent oak overlay of smoke, toast and resin looks to meld with balsamic tones and strawberry and pomegranate granita. The wine carries through with a strawberry richness, giving a slightly sweet, cordial-like tone that is supple and rounded. However, the oak seems ahead of the fruit, giving an impression that is heavy-handed and lacking in finesse. While there is decent acidity and pliant tannins, the wine is unknit at the moment.
