From a bottle purchased upon release and cellared in pristine fashion, this wine was decanted off of its sediment and serially tasted over the ensuing three hours. A blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, it is currently deep red/garnet in color and beautifully aromatic. Within 30 minutes of decanting, scents of blackberries, blueberries, spice cake, molasses and espresso are effusive. Typical color, this wine is still a bit tight on the nose. Cassis, plum, spice/oak and a hint of eucalyptus. Think "mini-Montelena". Will improve for a few years.
