Soft and non-linear for a cru Beaujolais. Feels kinda syrupy and late-harvestish. Low acidity. Rotting strawberry. Easy finish. Atypical but not unenjoyable.

This wine takes a while to open. Dry earth and acidic red fruit on the nose. Acidic fruit, not quite cranberry, but in that direction. Strawberries as well. Somewhat tannic and light bodied. Finish is a bit hot. Overall, nice acidity and body, but there is not a lot of depth of flavor. It comes across as a budget red burgundy.

Medium ruby color, clear and translucent, average viscosity, fast legs. Nose: dusty, very dusty. Reminded me of a Chianti. I like. Strawberries. Sometimes I’d get a hint if candied cherries. More viscosity than the Villages and definitely “softer” mouthfeel, like a good Merlot. Dusty tannin (but tannins on the low side). Strawberries. Fairly low acidity too. Long full-palate finish. A little hot. Back label says “11-14%”! I’d estimate 13%.
