Strangely a bit sweet and too rich for me. Well made and if you like a full-on CdR this could be for you.

A bit more fruit, cassis and red fruits, coming through than on previous bottles.

Magenta red, looks very youthful. Nose: fruity (raspberry/loganberry/mulberry), copper metal edge (like geranium leaves), cinnamon stick spice. In the mouth medium-full to full, tannins softening; a bowl full of mixed fruit (berries from the nose, but damson/elderberry tannin). Good length: dark fruit and flowers (rose). Has an exceptional presence, the full body that characterises this vigneron.

Excellent CdR and superb value. Loads of depth and a lorry of punch, shows it's 15%. Tick of summer fruits bit a lot of rich dark fruit in there too. Hefty spice. Punching well above its weight. Think it's a good few years in it, might soften a bit with time, not that it needs to, wears it's punch well!

Quite decent, good fresh red fruit and a bit of herbs. Not over the top, which is appreciated. Easy going, great wine for a campsite in this case. Drink now.

Garnet to rusty to pink to clear rim, pink tearing. Tons of savory spice, anise, wet forest, wet decomposing leaves, black cured olives, bruised cherry on the nose. Tannins hit the rim of the hard palate and tongue, slightly rough, warm with alcohol, medium viscosity, flavors are congruent with the nose, but with an added highlight of candied cherry and sweet black raisins. The only downside I see is a bit of an empty mid-palate. I'm honestly surprised at how …

I'm going high on scoring this wine vis-a-vis my CT peers. Mirroring so many of my experiences with Xavier, this wine was just 'meh' on day one. Primary, a touch too fruit driven, chunky, and even monolithic. Day 2 is different beast. Not enough complexity or length to merit a score in the 90's, but it's a silky textured Cotes du Rhone with plush red fruit and a pleasant hit of white pepper spice. Really quite lovely, and at 13.99 …

This wine went down quite nicely in October so I splurged on another one. Well, at the price, hardly splurging. Anyway, this time around I was not so impressed (only marginally so), finding the wine a little softer and gentler than I remember and not as terroir-driven.

One of two sportingly priced Cotes du Rhones that we purchased at a Binnys French wine tasting event. Pretty spot on as to where a Cotes du Rhone should be in my book. Perhaps I preferred the similarly priced Saint Cosme but either would be welcome on my shelf on a regular basis.

Deep red. Nice warm rich nose, berry fruit and pepper. Dry rich berry and pepper flavors and a nice textured medium long finish. Should come together with a year or two in the cellar. Under a screwcap.

Where I like a Cotes du Rhone to be: somewhat lean and structured and not simply fruity; a bit of terroir happening.

Very ripe and slightly sweet on the palate but good acid balance and some rustic tannins save this from being overblown. A good showing and especially at a killer auction price.

Crowdpleaser. Typical of 2015 rhone: good purity, much mature fruit and subdued/underplayed acidity. Almost full body. Not very complex and borderline sweet and finishes a little short. The aftertaste has a somewhat unpleasent acidity that sticks with you. 87-88. RP 90

Decanted for an hour; light sediment. Clear ruby color. A rather subdued nose of red fruit, strawberries, perhaps. Light bodied red fruit on the palate with some heat and no discernible tannins. Probably past its best days, as I recall this being better previously.

Old World Blind Tasting >$25 (Bin 75) : Medium extraction, duller maroon; now this is Rhone- CdR, denser, fig, raspberry, warm stone; very jammy fruit on the palate, brulee, burnt sugar, blueberry, thinner on palate, tastes more like a Spanish wine under $20; didn't enjoy as much as last bottles.
