Deep dark hue, oxidized? Oh no, this is a beauty, lots of fresh acidity, lemon meets orange reduction, nutty, caramel. What a way to end the night after the brilliant '05 Clos de Papes and the tasty liquid mushroom attack of the '07 Louis Boillotet Fils Volnay 1er Cru Carelle Sous la Chapelle, life is good.

Excellent dessert Riesling - everything it should be: pears, apples, and honey fill the nose and carry over to the palate. Has the right crispness and tartness to it to not be overly sweet. A real crowd pleaser.

Fantastic wine. Beautiful deep gold color. The aroma was detectable long before the glass made it near my face. Intense apple and pear followed by a layer of honey and tangerine on the taste. Intense sweetness offset by crisp acidity. Full bodied and sticky; it came down the side of the glass in sheets, not lines. I didn't pay a lot for this wine and really wish I had bought more.

Drinking very well. Rich, unctuous, with abundant honey, apricot, tropical fruits, candied citrus. Nice balanced with a pleasing complexity. Held up well over the time it was open.

Upon removing the capsule there was wood shavings sitting on top of the cork. Then when I removed the cork there was a groove tunneled out of the side of the cork where some seepage could be seen. I guess a poor cork or perhaps the work of some kind of cork beetle? In any case this has a mature golden amber color and a fairly thick appearance in the glass.
