Chateau Simon, Blanc, Graves

An equal blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, vines in the villages Budos and Pujols-sur-Ciron on (mainly) gravel, maceration pelliculaire for one night followed by a cold soak, part fermented and aged in stainless steel, part in new barriques with twice weekly bâtonnage. An attractive marriage of juicy, almost plump fruit (peach, hint of mango) and freshness, lifted by white flowers and supported by discreet oak; good weight, flavour intensity and length. Well done, good value.
