Disagree that it "needs" to be drunk now: intense red berries, lots of pressed red fruit concentrate, plenty of acidity to balance the fruit. lovely. Enjoy now if you like your wine primary, hang on a little if you're curious for where it develops.

Dark core with ruby turning brick edge; ripened dark fruit - plum - and some minerality. Full bodied, well balanced with a nice tanninc structure. Fruity earthiness turns into a lengthy end.

Cork smells like mold. Wine in great shape. Super young and kicky, strong nose and complexity. Dark red color with purple tones. Reminds me of a young cab. Still has another ten years in it. Yum.

Great depth of fruit, nice minerality, plenty of stuffing and intensity. Starting to be in good place, will probably plateau from here. And even though there's not much ABV (14.0%), two glasses got the normally spongy mrs ubercuvee totally tipsy - two extra points for that (at least)

compared to sister single vineyard Trapiche. This was perfectly smooth and drinking wonderfully. Will not improve with further aging. Drink over the next 3-4 years.

Tasted next to Adrianna Trapiche single vineyard and other Malbecs. This still has tannins to resolve and should continue to improve in the bottle. Great wine with full body and lots of upside potential. Will hold my bottles for a few years to look for that integrated fruit/earth smooth palate.

A glass staining inky wine with bright violet rims, its viscosity is apparent on the eye. A two hour decant finally revealed the underlying potential and structure of this terrific wine. Paired beautifully with mushroom risotto and NZ rack of lamb. Nice peppery kick to this wine. Has lots of cellaring potential.

Great colour, purple and inky. Nose is spicy with black pepper and cinnamon, jammy flavours with undercurrent of cassis. On the palate the the tannins are rich and full. Wonderful finish. In the mouth the tannins were present but ripe and smooth, and the acidity was in good balance with the ample fruit. The wine has a deep purple almost black color. The nose is sweet, oaky, with super ripe dark fruits, blueberry and black cherry, coconut and a hint of minerality. Trapiche Winery Visit (Lujan de Cujo) : Grapes from La Consulta in the Valle de Uco. Dark core (darker than the Cristina y Bibiana Coleto). Very oaky with toasty and coffee on the nose and palate. Hard to tell where's it's going right now because of the wood. I would have loved to see more elegance and less wood here to better express the malbec.

Tried at a high-end malbec tasting last night. Without question this was the wine of the evening. Still young, but beautiful nose of cinnamon and purple fruits. Immense structure and fruit on the palate. Absolute velvet. Let this sit for 2-10 years. Beautiful wine.

The Newburyport Wine Group--Malbecs in May (Jeremy & Angela's Deck, Newburyport, MA) : Purple opaque. Nose of briary fruits, smoke, spice. Similar on the palate with black/blueberries, licorice. Very tannic giving this wine some ageing potential. This wine had amazing density and decent balance. Easily my WOTN. Tasted blind.
