Really happy we opened this one, tannins were nice and mellowed after about an hour or so. Nice nose, notes of tobacco and smoke and chocolate, and those tried and true Sangiovese deep berries. Medium finish, tart cherries. One more bottle in the cellar, probably won’t improve much more over time. But a great value priced Chianti Classico.

1hour Decant. Aromatic. Young. Prune, blueberry, and light spice on the nose. Red fruits on the palate with cedar and moss. The wine finishes well with tannins that play a little heavy today. Feels like a probable sleeper. Lose this for 3 years and bet it’s 2 points better.

Dark, brooding workhorse wine. Not as blocky as Felsina Rancia, for example, but in that direction. All the Sangiovese flavors one wants and expects in a semi-modern, but not ostensibly so, package. We liked it but it probably won't break into our rotation. I'd happily drink bottles off a restaurant list or grab a bottle with some age from a trusted source. I do have a sneaking feeling that this could be one of those wines that you lose a …

3rd of 6, pnp, perfect cork and level, nice, if not special, chianti, decent depth, richness and persistence, just about a point, pleasurable without the nuance and layering to be cerebral.......but that's chianti I guess! VGI (17).

No decant; dark burnished purple; earthy nose (classic Tuscan summer fields); well balanced, fruit fading a bit; bright schist, black cherry; a fading star (a couple years past prime), but still nice; 17.5

18c; no decant; vibrant reddish-purple; brilliant nose of wet earth, black cherries, sage, cedar, juniper, pepper; nice structure, with dusty tannins, solid fruit and bright acidity; touches of bacon and schist, plush black cherries, sage, mint, black pepper; a lovely wine, but fading just a bit; (the next day...darker and still lush, with pine tar and bacon, very Pauillac-like); 17.5.

18c: decanted 1 hour: dark, slightly coppered ruby-red: rich, complex nose of ripe black cherry, funghi porcini, moist earth and leather, prominent minty notes (cilantro?), sage, freshly ground black pepper: firmly structured, with assertive, dusty tannins and rich, ripe fruit, giving a long finish (but has faded a bit after a couple of hours of air): touch of fat, ripe black cherries, sweet plums, tobacco, funghi, peppermint: compelling earth and herbal flavors (and odors): nice (but at peak, so don't …

Lots of leather on the nose. Opened up into cherries and some chocolate. This bottle seems a bit off (dank). Confirmed the next day. Wine lost flavor and seemed slightly musty. No stars.
