Wow a lot of folks apparently really hate this wine. I’m not finding it to be that awful. Very drinkable and true to the varietal.

Big plummy flavour on the front of the tongue, but very little flavour at the back - missing the earthy flavours it may have had when younger. Still some tannins and a nice level of complexity that became more apparent with a bit of breathing.

Day 2 - color: light purple velvet; nose: faint strawberry rhubarb; taste: thin-bodied mouth feel, rhubarb taste, medium-length finish with green notes, too much chalky tannins; overall: meh...not delicious, OK QPR ($12/bottle at Costco), seems awkward and unbalanced as of March 2017 but I don't think it will improve with age...pass

2014 may not have been the best year or the bottle is flawed. Will look for the 2015 vintage to try.

Twist and pour and tasted with food (Thai fried rice with chicken, in case you were wondering). Bright ruby red. Nose shows some spice and berries, some red cherry element too. Good acidity to mix in with the bright red fruits. Enjoyable. Somewhat simple. Stuck in the refrigerator and tasted the following day. It had lost some of its brightness and added a bit of weight and sweetness.

Awful. Tasted like oysters and smelled like the bay. I was embarrassed to have shared this with my roommate.

In a trio of tastings over a family holiday in Queensland, this was the first PN and was a decent showing. The weightlessness and complexity of French Burg still eludes Aussie producers, but the characteristics of the grape are there and enjoyable - palpable 'green frog' on tasting that gives way to cedar, sandalwood, pine, fruits, cherries. Finish was somewhat short but this is relative to Burg again as a benchmark. A decent drink and over there very affordable.

Wow moment. Raspberry soft Pinot is my new favorite -- like to age it

This is just as beautiful as the past 2-3 bottles I've had over the last year. Beautiful rustic scents of earth, vibrant red fruits, and mushroom on the nose with tart cherry and a melange of other red fruits on the palate. Med-high acidity, med fruit, and moderate length finish. Another excellent bottle!

* various bottles and dates. N: Roses P: Bright red fruits. Light body with very good length. Drinks very well. More complex and lively than the '11 or '12. Really very compelling, and great QPR.

I received an interesting note on CT the other night. It read exactly like this : 'You know you really are becoming a pinot hound when grocery store wine gets you jazzed!' I am not sure as the author, but have been thinking of how true he or she actually is about my recent discovery/awakening/enlightening of all things US Pinot.. The CT name is AFWE if that means anything... :) Tonight I cross an ocean or two. Medium dark color. …

Holy shits. For the price point, this knocks it out of the park. Classic pinot on the nose but on the palate, it's like drinking plums.

Wow...they nailed this wine...it over-delivers on a level that so many $20-$25 bottles don't or can't. For those that are patient enough to allow the sediment to settle...you're smart. Light medium body, high acid, and vibrant fruit. I could honestly be confused at times to thinking that this is a $45-50 OR Pinot Noir.

Dark in color for a Pinot Noir and very earthy and herbal on the nose. Medium-to-full-bodied, but intensely focused on the mid-palate. There's excellent depth to the tart cranberry and pomegranate fruit here. Shows good length and a hint of spice on the tangy finish. Young and tannic, this should be even better a few years from now once it has softened up a bit. Paired very nicely with our grilled lamb chops. 50+5+12+15+7=89

Decent wine for the price. A little shallow, not much to get excited about, good with a frozen pizza.

New Zealand Wines-Mostly Oyster Bay (SF Wine Trading Company) : Light red. Nose of high char oak. Light and supple. Easy, sweet red fruit upfront, then dry back palate shortened by the wood. Not bad, but too much cooperage for what it is.

Color: Ruby with a pale salmon rim Smell: Rustic notes of earth, mushrooms, and a melange of red fruits Taste: Bing cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, and faint aged wood notes like licking a dusty railroad tie. Overall: This is Excellent...and I'm tempted to say outstanding! Light-medium body, high acidity, med tannin, and a long finish. The nose is what hooked me on this though...absolutely beautiful.

This wine defined barnyard aroma to the point where I felt there was something wrong with the wine. After testing two bottles, I found it undrinkable and returned the remaining bottles to Costco.

Relatively thin, brings a subtle but very pleasant nose with cranberry and wet earth, iron. Agree with tart cherry on the palate and a short finish. Disagree with any poor aftertaste - it's fairly well balanced without alcoholic heat or bitterness. Frankly, I prefer A to Z in the $12 range but this isn't bad. Must serve chilled though

Lots of plum and cherry on the nose. It's unmistakably pinot noir, possessing a palate of strawberry, cherry and wet earth, along with cinnamon and iron. It was quite tart, although not unpleasantly so. The drag was on the finish: it was relatively short, leaving a lingering presence of sugary grape lozenge in the mouth.

A gift from a friend and one that has had me scratching my head in surprise. This is a really fruity wine - all ripe black fruits, cherries and plums. Very intense on the nose and palate. It's definitely a pinot noir from the New World but it almost seems to have a sweet edge to it.. I've checked the technical specs and it only has 2g of residual sugar but there is something to the wine that almost makes …

Consistent with previous note. Maybe somewhat better knit. I brought this to an event (NOT wine-related) because I figured I'd probably never open it at home, but it would be enjoyed though too unidimensional for me. Probably the second best bottle there was a $7 Alice White. Somebody brought a chardonnay to this event that was the color of apple cider; I figured it had to be oxidized. It was, and grossly so. The bottle was also 80% empty at …

Bright red. Bright tart cherry and, um, more tart cherry, and some spice I guess, but hard to get past the dominant cherry. Most folks at my event preferred this to the Oregon A to Z.

The sour cherry finish was a bit too tart, but this is still a good example of what new Zealand can do with pinot noir. Cherry is dominant. Good acidity. Like a young Burgundy, but probably going to stay that way. I wouldn't wait to drink this any longer.

Very solid PN, and there's not too many PN's I can think of that are so varietally correct and well balanced under $20. Nice cherry flavors. Medium bodied, with great acidity. A little weight to the palate, but not over the top. Very solid bottle of wine that is quite nice for the money.

As expected. Not a WOW but will not disappoint! Had with BBQ sirloin with portabello, broccoli and spaghetti with butter and garlic. This Pinot Noir is a typically good NZ with mild currants and mature cherry. Finish somewhat tart.
