Opened to a musty black cherry on the nose with some hints of cinnamon. Ripe cherry and oak on the palate with some rough tannic structure. An uninspiring short finish keeps this merlot nothing more than an ordinary table wine.

Rose petals, musk and manure on the nose. Flavors of roasted cherries. Little flavor of the finish. One dimensional, but enjoyable.

Surprisingly good and fruity for this type of wine. Tannin was a little bit rough but became much smoother later on. Overall, not too bad.

Wife didn't like it. Somehow compared poorly to the 2002 Vintner's Reserve finished the day before. I tasted it. It was dry but the fruit was too subdued. I have a cold. I have another bottle. I’ll let you know when I try it. Neither compare favorably to the bottle we had a year or more ago. I'll have to do some research to identify that vintage.
