Domaine Faillenc Sainte-Marie Corbières

Stinky on the nose, lots of what I perceive as barnyard/dairy farm, with some green pepper, too. But loads of bright fruit. Palate is somewhat full-bodied, though tannin is light and the fruit is juicy, giving it a thirst-quenching feel even though it's pretty hearty from a flavor perspective. A few hours of air, the barnyard mellows and an ashiness develops, not unlike what I sometimes get in older cab francs. Interesting experience because most ashy wines I've tasted have …
