Pretty darn good for $17. Clear red. Savory aromss. Crisp acidity the defining element. Smooth tannins. Shy, but present, fruit.

Ruby red color. Simple and not distinctive, but fine for the price paid. Was better with food than alone. Red fruit, a little pepper, medium/short finish.

Just as smooth -- seamless, but this time I found the lack of flavor not as pleasing as I did the last bottle 5 months ago. Inconsistent standards - I know, but that is my take.

Dark ruby with some funk on the nose. Dry funky on the PnP with some good initial acid, medium fruit, cherries with stone fruit tannins. Needs a little air to come together. Still has some bright fruit going, but the bitter needs to subside, 87 PnP. There is hope with time, progressing nicely, the bright fruit saves the day. Leather notes add some complexity to the funky ripe cherry fruit, chewy chaulky tannins on the finish. A couple days later, …

Smooth as the proverbial baby's bottom. Seamless. Perfectly integrated. As is sometimes the case with good CDR, this was like a "baby" CDP -- same flavor palette, but not as intense. My guess is that the quality of this bottle represents a combination of a very good vintage and a very good winemaker. The stars were aligned.

Medium ruby, brambles on the nose. Lightly dry with some light acids on the PnP. Ripe cherries with stone fruit tannins. Most of the French wines I have drunk lately have what I call bretty, toward light bitter tannins. A bit like a hoppy IPA. Soft mouthfeel with Some residual sweetness on the finish.

Full of brett. Never blew off and was not drinkable.

PnP thru Nuance Wine Finer. Dark red color. On the nose, some funk , dark cherry, raspberry. On the palate, mild tannins. A little candiesh red fruit, mixed with some earthiness. Smoothed out more on the second night and was very enjoyable. Solid 88 pts. Aloha!

Ruby. P: Red fruit, especially raspberry, licorice, fresh soil and dried herbs. Medium body. Balanced acidity and just enough structure to firm up the fruit. This evolved nicely for an hour, but started to decline thereafter. Very solid for the price. 90+

This wine is starting to lose it's primary fruit and isn't evolving into anything noteworthy. Instead, it's becoming a bit thin and dilute. Drink now.

I opened my 3rd bottle with a cheese plate on 6/5/13. It had an elegant, expressive bouquet of raspberry, cherry, licorice, spice and balsamic aromas. The palate was exceptionally integrated and had really come together…smooth and harmonious with flavors of raspberry, cherry, licorice, spice and minerals.

Upon opening it was super funky but that blew off after an hour. Nose of raspberry, earth, and herb. The palate was tart red fruit and mineral. I don't know...I like it!

I had this with a cheese plate on 3/15/13. It had a bright, fragrant bouquet of raspberry, cherry, floral, spice and balsamic aromas. The palate was hard, angular and a bit severe with moderate tannins and flavors of cherry, raspberry, toast, herb and spice.

Light transparent red in color. Smell of dirt, herbs and some oaky notes. Tastes of candied cherry fruit, some funk and a blast of heat on the finish from the alcohol. To me this wine is a bit clumsy. This is my last bottle. Not nearly as good as the 2007 Janasse Terre d'Argile Cotes du Rhone Villages I had earlier in the week.

On first opening the nose is full of funky earth and cranberry. The palate is tart cranberry, pepper, black tea and tobacco leaf with a sweet tart finish that includes some coffee notes. One hour later the nose is showing dark berries with some barnyard funk, sandal wood and tobacco leaf. The palate is similar with dark fruit, spices and tobacco with menthol on the finish. One day later the nose has character of raspberry, black tea and spciy tobacco …

Big rich wine with some real tannin under all the fruit, mostly candied red grenache flavors...this can easily take a good long decant or a few years in the cellar

Smells of ripe red fruits, iodine, anise and garrigue. Much more aromatic than the previous bottles. Tastes like it smells with some earthiness on the finish right after the candied red fruits. Long finish. Kind of rich, but dry. Ripe fruits, but plenty of garrigue which creates intellectual interest.

Popped and Vinturi'ed. Didn't take any notes but was a good wine and enjoyed drinking (with pizza for what it's worth). A garagiste selection, not overly complex or a paradigm shifting wine, but at $17 a bottle,I'd buy and drink again as a mid-week wine.
