Wine demonstrated what was initially expected. Not my choice. Excellent quality, somewhat boring, especially in the company of Tignanello 2021 and I Sodi di S.Niccolo 2017 as well as Guado al Tasso 2020. Aerated 2+ hours

Quite smooth and polished notes of plum, vanilla and leather. A hint of sourness and balanced.

Been open a couple of days so not necessarily a representative pour - but still enough to get an insight into the DNA of the wine. The Cabernet Franc is so imposing on the nose. Not that easy to make out much else, jalapeño pepper is the alpha and omega. It is a pity because the palate has some quality. Chocolate, with some tightly wound dark fruit today. Tannins are coarse here, really quite prominent even with this extra time. …

Deep ruby with purple highlights. Aromas of red and black berries, layered with pepper and spice. Dense, opulent and powerful on the palate, with broad tannins and well-integrated acidity. The intensity carries seamlessly into a long, elegant finish. A great wine in a great moment.

Akin to an early 2000ths Napa Cab. Back palate just a tad clipped. 14.5% ABV.

I get that it’s a bdx blend made in Italy. It is thick dense, black in the glass. The fresh cab franc keeps throwing me, too much bell pepper for me to be enraptured by this young wine. Fun to experience but I wouldn’t get this for my cellar.

Part of a tasting at K&L. Medium ruby color. Notes of young peppercorn, cranberry skins, green pepper (including the whites). Needs time, but already enjoyable. 90+ points.

Very well-balanced medium-medium + bodied wine. The Cabernet franc gives this some good lift that helps this avoid being clunky and dense like many other super Tuscans. Will want this to gain some more complexity given the price; but that will happen with time.

2021 was an excellent vintage similar to 2015 and 16. 5% petit Verdot and the remainder evenly split between CF/CS/Merlot. Color is dark purple no expressive showing sweet creamy oak and vanilla later developments show a very enjoyable graphite and pencil lead character but not quite as dark as those you will find in Pauillac. Texturally medium. Acidity, concentration, tannins and finish are medium+. Alcohol very well masked. 6 hectare, 20,000 bottle produced 93-95

deep ruby colour. expressive and developing wine with fresh herbal notes of mint and lavender gracing fresh blueberry and blackberry fruit; cassis and liquorice flavours have veins of leather, spice and earth. with full body, chalky tannins and bright acidity, this well-balanced wine is showing finesse, integration and definition of flavours. long, fresh finish. more restrained and elegant than the 2020, it may enter its optimal drinking window sooner… and has upside potential. 14.5% AbV; Bordeaux blend of 35% Cab. …

served 45 minutes after decanting. Initially there was a whiff of coconut butter, but this faded quickly and became much more smoky than expected. Also showing tobacco, grilled meats, black pepper... and later lots of graphite. Still got plenty of tannins, and sweet on the palate as expected.

served 30 minutes after decanting. Good sweetness on the nose, with vanilla, smoke, and cedar. Very fragrant 15 minutes later, with lots of mint and more smoke. About 1 hour after first pour the nose turned mostly to smoke and woodsy notes. Still pretty tannic.

decanted 1 hour after opening, and served 45 minutes after decanting. Absolutely beautiful! Soooo fragrant with lots of cedar and woodsy notes, very sweet and plenty of vanilla on the nose, almost jammy. Still full-bodied and concentrated.

Given the recent dismal rating by Monica Larner (87 points- due to Brett), I decided to pnp my first bottle with pasta at home on a Sunday. Still a dark garnet to the rim, showing very little evolution. Concentrated dark fruit, spices, Napa like sweetness however matched by a level of acidity that one seems to only find in Tuscany. The acidity obviously helps to hide the 15% alcohol content, which never shows. Can confirm the touch of Brett spotted …

Dinner with friends (At home) : Decanted for 2.5hrs, poured back into bottle and left to stand in bottle for a further 2hrs. This was unanimously the favourite wine for everyone around the dinner table tonight. So open and approachable with great concentration and opulence. Beautifully rich and tannins were sweet and well integrated. Medium plus finish. Could probably benefit with some further age but really enjoyable at the moment. A worthy challenger to many classified bordeaux but still shows …

This is by far one of the best Super Tuscan wines I've ever had. It truly stands as a testament to Marchese Lodovico Antinori's drive to produce high quality wines. Despite being born out of a warm vintage, this wine shows much balance and finesse. On the nose it is densely aromatic with a bouquet of blackberries, raspberries, rhubarb, chocolate, brown sugar and humid forest underbrush. On the palate, it is rich and dense and is very fruit driven. The …

Retailer tasting (@ vdH) : A beast of a wine. Enormously concentrated and an enormous amount of sweetness. At this moment well held together by the oak and acidity. It is all very young, but the sweetness makes it easy to drink already. There is complexity and soft tannin hidden behind the sweetness and I really am curious how this will age. 94+
