Quite nice. Consistent with last notes. I will definitely consider purchasing more Vagabond, particularly if John Caldwell grew the fruit.

See my 2/28/13 note. Consistent, with two changes. Tannins seemed more in balance. And probably wouldn't wait much longer to drink our last bottle. Btw quite good third day after opening.

Beautiful, deep hue, with classic syrah bouquet. The taste initially was a bit schizophrenic because there was this big Cali syrah flavor, but also a lot of tannins. As someopne else noted, it was simply out of balance. As it opened up with air, everything gradually came into better (not great) balance. Big red fruit with underlying spice. Opaque purple, loads of fruit with blackberries, plum, and other black fruits, spicy earth, and hints of vanilla. Huge on the palate with loads of extraction, mouth drying tannins, and a spicy finish. Overall this a big in your face syrah that seems overdone and out of balance. If you like huge fruit forward wines with tannins this is up your alley
