Confluence Vineyards and Winery Primitivo Wahluke Slope

Garnet in color. Medium plus to high acidity with a nice but soft tannin grip to the finish. Notes of cocoa on the nose that carry through the mid palate. Alcohol is present but, unlike so many Zinfandels, it’s integrated and not “hot.” I am not usually a Zinfandel fan but this has an old world Primitivo quality and a balance that is exceptional.
