Just last prime. Not dead but a bit simple at this point. Not at level of other Lauer cuvees

A nice riesling, crisp, decent acidity but not a lot of depth.

Pertol and floral. Still lightly spritzy. Enough sugar to balance the acid but it comes off as green acid. Still has miles on it.

Totally delicious now. The acidity has mellowed slightly (but only slightly) with age. There was a still a bit of spritz on opening that didn't really go away on night 1, but was gone night 2. I know this is basically dry, but I think there's still a tiny bit of RS, at the very least it has enough sweet fruitiness to balance the dry acidic structure.

Apricot and petrol on the nose. Ripe, with nicely balanced acidity. There is a hint of sweetness which allowed this to pair nicely with spicy Asian food. A bit of detracting bitterness is creeping in on the finish.

Restrained, pale version of a Riesling.

Subtle petrol on nose. Light bodied, a touch of sweetness, but overall steely minerality and tart juicy apricot fruit. A bit one dimensional, but a nice pairing with Jamaican jerk chicken

Botrytis notes stuck out like a sore thumb on this one. I'm usually a big fan of Lauer, but this bottle was not up to par. Will approach again tomorrow... Day 2: vast improvement, no detectable botrytis. go figure.

Grapefruits and minerals really describe this wine. Not overwhelming on the palate and subtle grapefruit & citrus on the nose. Subtlety sweet like a riesling, but I think I could mistake this for a sancere.

Like biting into a granny smith apple soaked in a lemon/orange juice mixture and drizzled with just a touch of honey to keep it from being too tart. Certainly shows the acid of the vintage but has just enough concentration to stand up to it, even if it doesn't show the intensity of some other 2010 Lauer bottlings.

This is nice. Top-notch energy, acidity, and concentration. Very floral and quite complex.

These are so utterly delicious! Crystalline lime and grapefruit that is braced and balanced by slate and silica mineral. This nearly dry wine beckons more sips as it fills the mouth with bright citrus and minerals, and hints of sweet and floral complexities.

Plenty of pear and green apple, lots of lime, and as it warms up a powerful grapefruit flavors shows up. There's lots of complexities here, with a grassy quality and a river pebble flavor making their presence known. This is quite tart, almost completely dry, much more so than the Stirn, with plenty of power, and if it gets too warm the acidity can be a bit much. But at the right temperature the wine has plenty of balance and …

Rather sulfurous on the nose with slate and some fresh fruit emerging with some swirling. There's fresh green apple and lemony fruit over a mineral base in the mouth with powerful acidity, barely any sense of sweetness and it feels reasonably well balanced with the acidity not overwhelming, though it's completely charmless without any of the finesse or elegance I look for in Mosel Riesling.

A distinctive winemaker that never disappoints. Absolutely mineral driven troken style, with delicate nuance and complexity. Bit of. Surprise this drank better night one than night two, we'll never know about three. Save the rest for much later in the decade.

3hr decant. extremely mineral driven nose with white grapefruit & lemon zest in the wings. nuanced & delicate. plenty of bright crisp acidity but not quite as piercing as the fass 6 tasted recently. one of my favorite Lauer's to date. tremendous.

Lemon, grapefruit, and mineral-driven aromas are fairly intense. On the palate, there is also almost a painful sense of acidity, but it seems to lack the usual lift that acidity provides. It's at once watery and dense. Strange. Watery in the front of the palate, gaining with intensity toward the back, with a long finish. Hard to know what to make of this. Judgment reserved.

Now this is the rock lover's dream. Hugely stony and mouthwateringly fresh. Electric and while quite acidic, it is all in outstanding balance. Clean and crisp and sharp as a knife. This is great stuff. Not for the faint of heart, but if you are a rock lover, back up the truck. 92 pts

Deep and pure again. A lovely floral nose, with pretty fruit but quite dry and mouthwatering on the finish. 90 pts
