Air for at least an hour to open up. Nice drop, heavy on the fruit, probably past its best years though

Nice perfume from the Grenache. Soft on the palate. The 40% shiraz adds some body to the wine. Fruit forward on the palate. Enjoyable Rhone blend from Australia.

Bottle not decanted (was in a gas preservation machine). Interesting nose with mild sweet and slightly stinky floral and earth component. In the mouth sour red fruit (plum, blackberry, some red berry) on top of a "candied chemical" taste similar to the unusual component on the nose. Medium acid and medium plus tannin. Finishes with fading fruit and some woody taste. Grenache 60% and Shiraz 40%, would have benefited from a touch of mourvedre.

The flavor profile is very much like a ripe cotes du Rhone. Not what I expected, this is lithe and food friendly, with some conmplexity and nice acidity. Ready now but will probably hold a year or two.
