Heavy intensity on ripe black berries. Deep and dark w. somewhat jammy blackberries and sweet vanilla. Finely coarsed tannins and low acidity. Definitely w. food, meat in particular. Soundly made. Keep

GSM Southern Rhone blend from Barossa and indeed very much like a cdr. No doubt very well made. But the cdr resemblance makes me a bit disappointed of this wine. It tastes and feels in almost every way a cdr with no real characteristics of the local terroir. Unwooded which I am not sure is ideal. Add to that a very short finish this was a bit of a let off.
