Understated, hints of black cherry and tobacco.

Deep ruby in appearance. Evolving nose of sweet black fruits and a bit of spice. Nothing complex, but fresh and clean. No sign of oak on the nose. Medium bodied with plenty of acidity and medium to medium plus tannins. Decent flavor concentration with a medium to medium plus finish. Overall well done and certainly seems to punch above its weight for the appellation/price point . Given the structure I would not hesitate to cellar for another 5 year plus.

Over two days. Lots of fruit and oak upon opening, though in no way off-putting. Very good freshness and lift. It showed fairly heavy extraction on the second day.

2h for this young Graves blend of 70% Merlot and 30% CS. Medium to Medium-Dark purple. Aromas of blackberry, raspberry, mushroom, potting soil, 5 spice powder and tobacco. Youthful and assertive, smooth texture, with mostly primary flavors of red fruit and chalky tannins. Perfectly nice value for a $13 Graves, as a preview of the 2018 vintage.
