In the (what seems to be) ongoing Pinot Noir battle between American Fruit bomb & elegant but fairly muted European pinots , this winemaker gets it right. Although not as layered as perhaps it's european counterpart, it still captures the essence of elegance; that being elevating the grape without too much fanfare. nose -strawberry, plum, maple, spice, roasty mouth - juicy red fruit overpowered by prominent toasted oak, escalating to a long bitter chocolatey finish. Out of balance at the moment. Unclear to me if time will redress.

Deep rich nose with dried fruit and a complex, rich body. Wonderful!

Maybe lacks some nuance, but beautiful dried and dark fruit, saddle, barnyard, densely packed, hardly a rest for the palate as it goes down, rich but not layered, high acid, alcohol maybe slightly out of balance at 14.5%.
