Edited after day 3 of tasting. Round mineral and very well balanced and surprisingly generous amount of fruit, struck match and hints of butterscotch but not too much and a fine line of acidity that keeps it lively. Over delivers on the finish as well. Amost as good as a Sorrenberg? What's special to me is the fruit intensity that perhaps only old vines can deliver. Very quaffable too I could see myself drinking too much of it.

Friday at the strand (Strand Cellars, Croydon) : Toasted oak, a little bacon fat, stone fruit with a citrus underpin, slightly nutty notes. Juicy, tangy, slightly buttery, rich but still retaining freshness, touch of bitterness on the finish, very slight non intrusive alcohol warmth. Gained a little weight with time. Good.

Cellartracker in the flesh with VinTomas (McLeay Street Bistro, Potts Point) : Struck match, lemon, stone frit, sweet oak spice. Juicy, fleshy, creamy lees, a little butter , citrus, stone fruit, silky butt, balanced, long generous. Superb with cheese and onion souffle

Australia Trade Tasting (Lindley Hall, Royal Horticultural Halls) : Extrovert, like the "normal" Chardonnay, flinty, oaky texture, elegant, palate is smooth, juicy, nice acidity, textured, quite pricey though

Lunch with the wine ark boys (McLeay Street Bistro, Potts Point) : A little struck match, touch of polished oak, nectarine, slight mandarin, smidge of lemon. Juicy, tangy, textured burr has a slightly woody underpin. Similar flavour profile. Yum

On tour with Tim and Phil day two (Beechworth and King Valley) : Rich and concentrated, a little clay, peach fruit, a little toasty note. Medium plus intensity acidity, tangy, stone fruit, slightly woody textured. Long, concentrated. Nice.
