Dry Creek Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

Based on memory from tasting abt a month ago but this was shockingly good. A bit simple but lots of acid and fruit flavors still. Well balanced

Left by my late father. Mild sweet minty nose. Rich dense palate. Still has sweet fruit and now intricately structured - tobacco, graphite and a long complex acidic finish. Tannins well softened. Great weight and balance. Can’t really compare to earlier years, but after 26 years I’d say this is peaking now. At least I don’t know what more I would want. Thanks Dad.

Garnet with orange at the rim. Nose of an older Cab, but there is life in the old girl yet! Taste was tertiary-dried herbs, tobacco. drink up and was a pleasant surprise.

Way past this bottles prime...I did not even finish it as I could not get over the sour grape taste.

This wine was a wonderful surprise. Wonderful aged cabernet. Classic cigar box, plum, blackberry, currant and vanilla nose with a dash of earthy must that gives you the hint that it's a mature wine. On the palate it is silky and smooth with great dark fruit, vanilla and chocolate berry flavor. Smooth, long finish and the tannins are sweetening nicely. Beautiful wine. I was really blown away at how youthful this wine still seemed after 13+ years. Great cellaring potential …
