Domaine Martin Schaetzel Pinot Gris Kaefferkopf

Fascinating to hold this bottle so long. Eleven-year-old grand cru riesling. Suuuuuper complex. A journey on the palate. As with past bottles, there's a richness and slight sweetness up front that falls off and ends with some sour notes and high acidity. Super fun. Sad to think we'll likely not replicate or see how it continues to develop with more age.

Superb. Great acidity and complexity. I don't really know how well rieslings typically age, but my gut tells me this benefited from its 9 years. Strong showing. Inclined to let the remaining bottle sit a while.
