Hakutsuru Junmai Dai Ginjo Nishiki

Leaf day - Very pale lemon in colour. Extremely fragrant right from the pour showcasing anise and white flowers. On the palate it’s silky and fairly full bodied with apple, pear, tropical fruit and a long finish of spice with anise. Really elegant even with the richer body and extremely fresh on the palate - good acidity but also round and rich. Bit of a steal at this price point, I’d say.

The Flight of the Crane. Very dry, firm and full bodied sake. A bit on the strong side of a Junmai but still with class and elegance, fruity, soft floral side too and very much a food sake and went very well with a variety of dishes at Chef Kashiba's omakase, from the fatty to the lean.
