This is an excellent wine, though in retrospect, not a very good wine to consume in a restaurant: it needs to be decanted and allowed to breathe for a time. With that in consideration, the initial impression is of buttery oak layered on dark fruits. Intense colour...almost black. It is a thick wine, loads of extract that is expected of Napa Valley syrah.

I was left dissapointed by this. Nothing "wrong" with it, and it was enjoyable, but I went in with high expectations and was left wanting much more.
