nice, lively wine with still a little bit of life and kick to it. Herbal cherry, raspberry, boysenberry....some decent length.

Very tight and coiled today, this wine could use some serious decanting. Pinpoint purple fruit, some dark tobacco and a bit of distilled green pepper. Structurally firm and in need of lots more time.

4th Saturday group uptown tasting (R&C's) : Double blind. Notes of red and black fruit give way to a very odd cheesy jalapeno aroma that takes over and I had a hard time getting past it. Medium tannins with flavors of red fruit and spice on the palate. Tastes better than it smells, but this is weird and not very good...likely a compromised bottle and not representative.

Killer Merlot based blend. loads of rose petals and ripe cherries on the nose. Very well balanced in the mouth starting with dried spices (mostly celery seeds) followed by cherries and something like coffee grounds but I can't put my finger on it. During PNV week, first tasting of the day, great flight of wines from Heidi Barrett. Merlot blend, dark cherries, plum, earth. Soft on the palate, rounded and plush Merlot. Espresso/coffee on the finish. Medium finish. Nice wine, especially for the vintage, not worth the price point
