Stunningly good, a beautiful old burg. Most elegant Corton Renardes I have had. Notes of dark cherry, spice, and cinnamon stick with a medium long finish. Drinking in a Zalto glass, which has greatly enhanced the experience of drinking this wine.

Corton Dinner : Even brighter than the '02 Clos du Roi, elegant.

Good length, good cherry and floral aromas, but even on day two it wasn't at the level of the Bressandes.

Wine tasting Bas & Lennart (Lennart thuis, Zeist) : After 30-60m in the glas really opened up. Quite powerful, clearly a strong vintage. Might be right at is peak right now, although can be cellared for still quite some time. Clear primary red fruit (strawberry, red berries), forest ground and leather. Nice and elegant

A stunner of a wine. It marries the fresh and elegant character of the vintage with the meaty richness and density of the prime climat on the Corton hill. It is well developed aromatically, with black fruit, spices, game and undergrowth, and it finishes elegantly with fleshy peach and rose. Classic style and weight, develops a touch of dark chocolate with air. Very good length. Really singing today.

Crisp, lighter bodied, definitely not round and smooth. Hold?

Very nice. A touch of funk, spicy red cherry, damp earth, herbs; nice comolexity. Great acidity, a touch of chalky tannin comes in, loads of red fruit, density increases in the mouth....

Pop and pour. Excellent from the get-go. A bit of spice and earth at first, followed by deep sweet cherry fruit and a touch of sweet tobacco. On the palate, still excellent acidity and grippy stylish tannin. Smooth and enveloping with a nice long finish. Couldn't ask for much else. Yum.

Excellent. Beautiful nose bright, layered berries on the nose. Soft tannins, with fruit on the mid-palate, and a bursting bright raspberry and sweet blueberry.

Had it alongside the 98 Gaunoux Renardes, it was hard to tell them apart. 98 a bit softer, but the two wines were very comparable and both in prime drinking time.

Very characteristic of Renardes with spice and game, but also a much riper version - thats the vintage talking. Served alongside 98 Renardes Gaunoux, and it was an even fight, even though the wines were somewhat different. Served with lamb with lentils. great match.

A beautiful burgundy, in a nice place. Big red spicy fruit, pretty aromatics. Lively on the palate with vibrant acidity, earthy red fruit, and a touch of minerality on the finish. Superb.

My note of this in 05 is pretty consistent to now. Perhaps a little more spice, earth and sap coming through and bit more depth and weight, tannins are firm but fine. Still a baby.

Color: Light Ruby Red Smell: Roses, roses, roses...this really reminds me of my grandfather's rose garden. Interwoven with scents of earth, red fruits, a light hint of cigar box and subtle notes of bacon. Taste: Light notes of strawberries, sour cherries, cranberries, and tomato leaf. Overall: A delicate and subtle light bodied wine with decent acidity that does not come across as overbearing or out of balance. This would be a wonderful wine with any of the traditional Pinot Noir …

Wow, I really loved it. Even though it's still too young, especially in mag, it has an amazing power combining red fruits, game and spices aromas. There is a good strong structure, good lenght. I never realized a mag was that small!

Colour - Deep Red Aroma - Earthy, underbrush, red cherries, raspberries and quite floral Palate - Lovely fruit, red cherries but also savoury. Good mid palate fatness moving on to a lifting light and slightly drying long finish. Good tannins and balance. This has great aging potential. I really liked this.
