Lovely velvety red and black fruit on the noise, becoming more animally with time opened. Subtle chocolate too. Palate shows earthy, brambly fruit, long finish. Warm, but still of some elegance. Drinking nicely now, good for a few years.

Drank over 2 hours. A medium-bodied, inky purple wine. Started out a little closed on the nose - damp forest floor, red berries. Over time, berries got a little darker, mingling with floral notes and some foie gras. In the mouth, black pepper, clean red fruit, a good amount of tannin and a nice, long finish. Good qpr. Very nice now, but may have more to show in a year or so.

An initially slightly closed nose but then shows brambly fruit, leather, violet and spice. The palate has an attack of juicy black fruit becoming chocolaty, some floral notes, and yet still feels like theres more to give. Plenty of tannin still there, good structure. Maybe another couple of years will see an improvement I think, but this is already enjoyable.

God vin, minner meg om en Crozes Hermitage, helt klart en bra syrah fra sør afrika.
